Railroad assessment notice book, 1883-1917.

Section 2142 of the Code of Alabama, 1907, requires that the state auditor send a notice of the assessment of the value of railroad lands and property in each county of the state to the county tax assessor and the superintendent of the railroad company. The assessments were made by State Board of Assessment. This series consists of the auditor's copy of the assessment sheet which records the railroad's name, county, miles of track, value of rolling stock, and amount of total assessment.
